Raising the Bar is about lifting expectations and aspirations.

At SeeBeyondBorders, we cannot just accept the status quo and the poor educational outcomes that are common for Cambodian children, especially in rural locations in northern Cambodia. Our Raising the Bar Report presents some initial evidence that SeeBeyondBorders’ interventions have the potential to Raise the Bar for community expectations regarding children’s educational achievement. Evidence demonstrates that, with improved educational practices which enhance teaching and learning, success at school can be a realistic aspiration for all. SeeBeyondBorders is committed to Raising the Bar.

In 2024, we are currently enhancing education for:

Phnom Penh

Phnom Penh is the capital
of Cambodia and the base
for some of our collaborating
partners. The mean years
of schooling in the capital
is far above the national
average at
8.7 years.

Battambang

Having worked in
Battambang province
since 2011, this is the
home of our biggest
Cambodian office
with much of the
project team based here.

Siem Reap

Home to our head office,
Siem Reap has one of the
lowest rates of schooling in
Cambodia, below the
national average at just
3.7
years.
For this reason, our
Transform Education
program is focused
on Siem Reap province.
